Position: Transportation & Logistics Supervisor
We are seeking a seasoned logistics professional to lead and streamline our transportation operations. This role is central to ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record in freight coordination and carrier management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute transportation strategies to enhance efficiency and control costs.
- Oversee third-party carriers and freight partners to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Onboard and evaluate carriers; handle freight claims and damage reporting.
- Manage the flow of raw materials and outbound shipments (T/L and LTL).
- Generate shipping documentation including bills of lading.
- Track logistics KPIs to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Serve as liaison between internal departments and customer shipping/receiving teams.
- Leverage data to optimize shipping decisions and mitigate logistics risks.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding delivery timelines.
- Ensure all logistics activities meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience in supply chain or logistics will be considered.
- Minimum 5+ years in transportation or logistics management, with solid freight experience.
- Familiarity with various logistics platforms and transportation systems (e.g., MRP/ERP tools; Business Central or similar).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to stay composed and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and customer demands.
Additional Details:
- pay: $75,000-$85,000, base (DOE) plus monthly performance-based incentives (average $1,500-$2,000/month).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Full-time, direct hire
- Onsite role based in Saint Paul with free parking; minimal travel (up to 1x/year).
